The most expensive footballer in the world has Tweeted a picture of himself on the cover of EA Sports FIFA 14.

The Welsh winger is accompanied on the front cover by Barcelona's star striker Lionel Messi. Bale has donned on a Real Madrid shirt, as he prepares to make his debut for the Spanish giants.

The original UK cover of FIFA 14, previewed this summer, also featured 24 year-old Bale alongside Messi, but with the Welsh International wearing a Tottenham kit, fuelling hopes among Spurs fans that he could stay at White Hart Lane.

But the summer transfer saga on the summer ended on deadline day when Bale made the switch to Real Madrid with a price tag of £85million, making him the most expensive player in the world, ranking above players such as Cristiano Ronaldo and Messi.

Although is the EA game Barcelona superstar Messi is the top-ranked player in the game and Bale is ranked just 17.

The Welsh Wizard is set to make his Real Madrid debut on Sunday in 'Los Blancos' trip to Villarreal.
