Former Manchester city and Liverpool midfielder Didi Hamann has hit out at Jack Wilshere following his performance in England's tepid 0-0 draw with Ukraine last night.

England secured the point they needed to keep their qualification hopes in their own hand, but Haman was unimpressed with Wilshere in particular, writing on Twitter that the Arsenal man is overrated.

Robin van Persie is closing in on becoming Holland's all-time leading goalscorer after he scored both goals in their 2-0 win over Andorra last night.

The Manchester United midfielder has 38 goals for the Dutch, leaving him three short of breaking Patrick Kluivert's record of 40.

Staying with international football it was a night of mixed fortunes for two stars of the Premier League.

Manchester City ace Jesus Navas bagged a last minute equaliser to help Spain claim a 2-2 draw against Chile, while two blunders from Tottenham's Hugo Lloris almost cost France dear against Belarus - before they rallied to secure a 4-2 win.

And finally, reports in Spain suggest Juan Mata is unhappy at Chelsea, with Barcelona said to be monitoring the situation ahead of a January swoop.
