Barcelona are ready to make a move for Cech at the end of this season, reports the Daily Star.

Much has been speculated concerning the Catalans' desire to replace the outgoing Victor Valdes with Chelsea's long-serving shot-stopper, but now it seems they are officially making their interest known.

Cech is believed to be pondering a move as he seeks new challenges in his career, and Barcelona have already been in touch with Stamford Bridge to make an enquiry into his availability.

The Czech international is reportedly happy to be working under Jose Mourinho once again, but realises that at 31, and with the emerging talent Thibaut Courtois set to fight him for the number one spot next season, his position as a regular starter may be in jeopardy.

The Courtois element is one that will force Mourinho's hand sooner rather than later, as clubs across Europe have declared their interest in the loanee currently at Atletico Madrid, and the young Belgian of the opinion that he is good enough for first-team football.

With Valdes on the way out, Barcelona are likely to go after either Cech or Courtois, depending on which one Mourinho favours for his starting XI.
