After the international break this past week, the Barclays Premier League resumes with more thrills and spills. For Liverpool Football Club in particular, things are going excellently well.
With three consecutive 1-0 victories, and Daniel Sturridge on a run of form, scoring all of Liverpool's goals so far in this campaign, Liverpool will be keen to perpetuate their stay on the summit of the table.
On Monday night the Reds travel to Swansea in what will be a tough encounter at the Liberty Stadium. The Swans are sitting in 16th place after three games, recording just one, a 2-0 away victory against West Bromwich Albion, and suffering two defeats in their opening two matches to top dogs Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.
With Liverpool's defence looking more solid than it has in years, Swansea will struggle to break the Red line, manned by an impressive Simon Mignolet. Former Liverpool midfielder and England international Jonjo Shelvey will be motivated to break the Red's clean sheet form and net against the team he feels never gave him enough of a chance.
At the other end of the park, Liverpool will know they can convert their chances and sneak a three points that will stamp their intent early on to the main pack of teams. That belief will sky-rocket when striker Luis Suarez returns from his ban received at the end of last campaign for biting Chelsea's Branislav Ivanovic.
For now the Uruguayan will still miss out and have to watch Sturridge perform from the stands. Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers will drill it into his team that the win over Manchester United last match day was no luck, and that the momentum must surely see them passed the Swansea line.
Liverpool will sit back and watch the weekend's action and know precisely what to and not to do come Monday night. A three points is very possible, and by Liverpool's form, probable.
