Chelsea: Midfield XI (1)

Football News

Last season Chelsea was praised all over the country for the development of their “midfield three” that consisted of Oscar, Juan Mata and Eden Hazard. The three of these men developed an almost telepathic understanding that made them a formidable opponent in both domestic competitions and in a European run that saw Chelsea take home the Europa League title.

Chelsea spent the summer releasing deadwood at the club and replacing it with new and fresh blood – mainly in the form of midfielders. The new arrivals of Andre Schurrle, Marco van Ginkel, Willian and Kevin De Bruyne coming back from his loan spell in Germany, the Blues perhaps have the biggest midfield in the league.

Competition is going to be fiercer than ever for players wanting to get in the starting eleven this season, so they’re going to have to impress more than ever when Jose Mourinho gives them a chance.

But if they all start impressing and he doesn’t know whom to choose, he could always just make an eleven filled with his midfielders.

Here’s a novelty Chelsea midfield XI. Feel free to comment with your own positons for the players.
