Swiss Super League team want strippers to increase attendance

Swiss Super League outfit FC Luzern are hoping to employ strippers in an effort to boost their attendance.

The club’s 68-year-old owner, Bernard Alpstaeg, has come up with the idea, and is hoping that some lovely ladies will persuade more people to come through the gates at the Swissporarena.

“We are doing well this season and we have a great team, but we want to be even more attractive,” said Alpstaeg, according to Metro.

“I want a show before kick-off. I want scantily clad strippers and sexy dancers to entertain fans before the game. The stadium would be full – that’s guaranteed!”

ESPN 2 presenter Keith Olberman subsequently named the owner his ‘worst in sport’ during a weekly segment on his show, but that is unlikely to stop Alpstaeg.

He’s already picked the women he wants to ‘represent’ the club, and is waiting for his proposal to potentially receive final clearance from the Swiss FA.

Should that happen, then the unthinkable will become a reality, and strippers will be providing the entertainment for the club.

Whilst it may be well received by male supporters, it may detract women and children from making the trip to watch FC Luzern. It’s a gamble the owner appears willing to take.
