Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney made a surprise return to first-team action during Saturday's 2-0 victory over Crystal Palace on Saturday.
The England international was expected to remain sidelined by the deep gash to his forehead, suffered following a training ground collision with teammate Phil Jones two weeks ago.
However, David Moyes named Rooney in his starting line-up, after the 27-year-old was given the go-ahead to play at Old Trafford with a specially-designed headband.
The protective headgear attracted plenty of attention, so much so that it received more column inches than the impressive free-kick that Rooney scored to secure Moyes his first home win as Manchester United manager.
