Robin van Persie misses open goal against Leverkusen

Football News

Robin van Persie may be one of the most feared strikers in the world, however in Manchester United's Champions League match against Bayer Leverkusen tonight, the Dutchman missed one of the more easier chances of his career.

United's Ecuadorian winger Antonio Valencia drilled a hard effort across goal and when it looked easier to score for Van Persie, shockingly the 30-year-old missed the target and sliced the ball wide.

It must be said that Van Persie had already found the net as United ran out 4-2 winners against their German opposition.

However, he will certainly want to forget his embarrassing open goal miss.
