Juventus have placed a €100million price tag on star midfielder - and reported Manchester United target - Arturo Vidal, following his fine start to the 2013/14 campaign, reports Sky Sports.

The 26-year-old has been the subject of intense transfer speculation in recent months, with Real Madrid also credited with an interest in Vidal's signature.

However, Juve general director Giuseppe Marotta has been quick to play down suggestions that the Chile international could leave the Serie 'A' champions in January, and revealed the club's intentions to offer the player a new and improved contract.

"If (Real Madrid's Gareth) Bale is worth 100million euros, Vidal is also worth that figure," he told Mediaset Premium.

"Vidal is a great player and this summer Real Madrid showed an interest in him but we turned it down. Selling him is simply out of the question."

According to talkSPORT, Manchester United didn't make a bid for Vidal during the summer, but the South American remains very much on David Moyes's radar, so news of his valuation will come as a blow to the Premier League champions.

Vidal is under contract with Juventus until 2016, and after scoring three goals in as many league games this term is poised for a bumper extension, effectively ruling out any possibility of a move to Old Trafford or the Santiago Bernabeu.
