Manchester City youngster Albert Rusnak has returned early from his loan spell at Oldham Athletic after refusing to play for the team's reserves, according to the Manchester Evening News.
The 19-year-old Slovakian midfielder was supposed to be at the League One side until January 5 after he joined them at the end of August.
However the Latics have elected to end the loan spell early with Rusnak having appeared for them only twice against Shrewsbury Town and Rotherham United.
And reports suggest the reason for the early return from Boundary Park is because of Rusnak's less than happy reaction to being asked to play for Oldham's reserve team against Port Vale on Tuesday.
According to the Manchester Evening News the player then returned to Eastlands where head of youth Patrick Vieira told him to return to Oldham and apologise.
Despite Rusnak reportedly complying with Vieira's orders, a return to the Etihad was decided as the best course of action for the youngster.
Explicit reasons behind the early end to the loan spell have not been officially commented on by either club.
“Albert Rusnak’s loan with Latics has ended as the player has returned to Manchester City," read a statement released by Oldham.
“All parties felt it was better for the 19-year-old Rusnak to pursue the opportunities available to him with City’s Elite Development Squad.
“Manager Lee Johnson says he is disappointed the loan, which was due to expire on January 5, didn’t work out.”
