The quarterback hotseat (4)

Christian Ponder - Minnesota Vikings

Football News

The NFL is 'quarterback league' at the moment, so when you see a team like the Minnesota Vikings being led by their Running Back kicking and screaming into the playoffs, there's bound to be questions about the QB.

Chrisitan Ponder has never been a player to set the world on fire but the third year pro has never been consistently terrible either, which is why he stall has the starting job in Minnesota.

However, some fans in Minnesota don't like Ponder... they don't like him at all. That's why they created a White House petition in order to try and oust Ponder from his position.

The petition was later removed because it violated policy rules but the story is going viral, especially in Minnesota, where people are searching for a reason why Ponder is failing to fire when he's got Greg Jennings, Jerome Simpson and Kyle Rudolph to throw to, all while Adrian Peterson acts as a massive distraction in the backfield.

Ponder will likely remain on the hotseat and unless he nose dives at some point during the season, the Vikings will stick with him through to the end of the year but if he hasn't improved by then, he'll be searching the NFL for a job.
