Ashley Cole involved in angry confrontation with American bartender

Wow, that escalated quickly. A video has surfaced of an American bartender berating Chelsea left-back Ashley Cole for allegedly not tipping her well enough.

The event appeared to happen outside a St. Louis bar called the 'Hair of the Dog', where Cole and some friends had stopped for drinks.

The Chelsea defender was in St. Louis in May as part of Chelsea’s pre-season doubleheader against Manchester City.

When Cole and friends tried to leave the bartender began a foul-mouthed tirade against the England international, going as far as saying: "I hope this stupid a** gets robbed, gets beat, gets raped right here on the motherf****** sidewalk."

As Cole & Co. attempted to leave the enraged bartender continued her rant telling Cole that "no one gives a f*** about you and it p***** you off."

Unlike his counterpart in the altercation, Cole appeared to maintain his composure, asking her: "Why are you getting so annoyed with me? No one knows."

In the end, cooler heads prevailed, as the cameraman of the ordeal called a cab for Cole and friends.

Even after Cole had left, the woman prolonged her outburst to the cameraman stating: "they think they’re f****** cool and they have money. They don’t even know how to tip."

The event was certainly an odd one; perhaps next time Cole is in America he’ll choose his bars more carefully. As for the bartender, we can only hope she realised what a fool she made of herself when she discovered that Cole was not a nobody.

Check out the video to see the entire altercation.
