Romelu Lukaku joined Everton on loan from Chelsea this transfer window. After an extremely successful season at West Brom, many thought that Chelsea should've kept the striker for themselves this year.
And it looks like they were right. In his debut for Everton, Lukaku accomplished a feat that no other Chelsea striker has been able to this season: score.
The young Belgian received a cross from the right side and was able to send in a perfect header to the bottom left corner of the goal, to give Everton a 3-2 lead in the 85th minute and seal the game.
However, all football fans held their breath at the sight after, when Lukaku did not get up or move after his teammates continued to shake him.
With all thoughts of a possibly ill-conceived celebration gone, it was clear that Lukaku had actually been knocked unconscious. He woke up soon and was able to walk off with the physio, holding his head.
Asked after the game about his goal, Lukaku replied: "I remember nothing about it.
"I did not even know I had scored. That was the first thing I asked the doc. I said, 'Who scored?' He said, 'You.'"
Lukaku figures to have another great season this year, likely his last season out on loan. The Belgian international is one of the most promising talents in all of football, a physical specimen and extremely sound in terms of technique.
After a scary moment, both Chelsea and Everton fans will be happy that the 20-year-old is okay. After all, strikers that can score without knowing it come around once in a lifetime.
