Another All-Australian debutant, Griffen has shouldered Matthew Boyd’s workload, single-handedly carrying a toothless Western Bulldogs side to an underwhelming 15th place.
Nonetheless, Griffen isn’t at fault, with a series of displays that will see him poll extraordinarily well on Brownlow night.
The Bulldogs on-baller experienced a stretch of 11 games (almost half the season) in which he dropped below 29 disposals only once, an astonishing feat.
However, the weight of carrying a football team caught up to the explosive Charles Sutton medallist, as he slowed to a combined 39 disposals over the last two weeks.
