Last season Barcelona won the La Liga title by an astonishing 15 points over big rivals Real Madrid, picking up Brazilian wonderkid Neymar during the summer transfer window.
They have made a great start to the season, winning six games and not losing any in all competitions.
On paper it would appear Barca's squad would be perfect but it does not tell the whole story.
There are a few holes and weak links in the squad and these links have been exposed at times against Europe's elite, most obviously against Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League semi-final.
The main problem with Barcelona's squad is the lack of numbers in central defence and the attacking midfield area.
Not to mention the fact that they will have to find a new goalkeeper with Victor Valdes stating his intent to leave the club once his contract ends following the conclusion of the 2013-14 season.
The past summer window did not address any of these issues, especially as Spanish under-21 starlet Thiago Alcantara left for Bayern Munich to re-unite with former boss Pep Guardiola, with nobody coming in to replace him.
The failure to lure more than Neymar in during the summer has left Martino and Barca in a tricky position as it means they will have to wheel and deal during the January transfer window.
The traditional inflation of prices in January will mean President Sandro Rosell and Manager Gerardo Martino will have to accept to pay over the odds for their desired targets.
I have devised a ten player shortlist of possible targets that Barcelona could get in January so they can challenge for all titles possible.
