Liverpool will have to go head-to-head with Italian giants Juventus for the signing of Lacina Traore, reports talkSPORT.

The Ivorian striker looks destined to leave current club Anzhi Makhachkala and Reds boss Brendan Rodgers has been heavily linked with bringing the star to Anfield.

However, recent reports coming out of Italy have suggested that Italian champions Juventus are now interested in the player.

And, with CSKA Moscow and Zenit St Petersburg also interested in the forward, Rodgers may struggle to tempt the player to Merseyside.

The Ivory Coast forward, who has four goals in six international appearances, could be the subject of a January bid from Juve.

If the 23-year-old was to join the Italian outfit, he would join the likes of Carlos Tevez and Fernando Llorente in Turin, but Liverpool could still step up their interest in the player.

Rodgers will be desperate to add to his attacking options with Daniel Sturridge and controversial forward Luis Suarez currently the main-men at Anfield.
