Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas has told reporters that he does not care about Chelsea, who unceremoniously sacked him in March 2012.

The Portuguese coach was dismissed after just nine months in charge at Stamford Bridge, before taking over at White Hart Lane four months later, replacing the sacked Harry Redknapp.

Ahead of this weekend's Premier League clash between Spurs and Chelsea at White Hart Lane, AVB has told the media that he no longer cares about the Blues.

"I don’t care about Chelsea, it’s not my responsibility," he told the Daily Mail.

Villas-Boas, who established himself as one of Europe's most promising young coaches while at Porto, also revealed why his relationship with former colleague Jose Mourinho eventually broke down.

Villas-Boas added: "My relationship professional and personally with him was excellent. Our break up point was because I was full of ambition and wanted further involvement to scouting and match preparation.

"I felt I could give him more but he didn’t feel the need to have an assistant so we both decided it was time after Inter Milan to change.

"There is nothing to prove. His career speaks for itself, I am proud of what I have done.

"The game and the history of both clubs surpasses our achievements. We should be secondary to a spectacular game."

Meanwhile, Villas-Boas has also backed Juan Mata to regain his place in the Chelsea first-team, describing the Spanish playmaker as a "special player".

"It’s not my decision to pick or not pick because he was always involved in my starting eleven," Villas-Boas said of the player he is reportedly interested in signing. "I always enjoyed a good personal and professional relationship.

"He will overcome it and he’s a special player, he will be back in the team.’
