Tottenham midfielder Lewis Holtby has played down his side's chances of winning the Premier League title this season.

Spurs have been touted as potential challengers after some wise summer spending saw them bring in over £90m of talent, including hot prospects Erik Lamela and Christian Eriksen.

However, Holtby is setting his sights purely on a top four finish, and he said: "Everyone can dream but our main aim is to get Champions League football.

"I think we've got the quality and the ability in the whole squad to do that. I'm very confident.

"It's a long season and everyone has to be at the top level to reach that."

Tottenham have made a fine start to the season, losing only once in their opening six matches, and they won't be too disappointed with claiming a point at home to London rivals Chelsea on Saturday.

"This was a big test, absolutely, and I think we're in a good way and playing a wonderful season," the 23-year old said.

"I think the manager was proud of us and how we committed to the game and how we fight in our game week in and week out.

"We've had a lot of games now in the last couple of weeks so everyone's just done a fantastic job."

He added: "We have to keep on progressing. It's very early in the season, we have to keep working hard."

Tottenham are in Europa League action this coming Thursday away in Russia against Anzhi Makhachkala before they host West Ham on Sunday.
