Manchester United see title odds slashed

Manchester United have had their title-winning odds slashed following their worst start to a league campaign since 1989, according to the Metro.

David Moyes has thus far struggled to adapt to life at Old Trafford, with his side only managing to pick up seven points from their opening six games.

The weekend's defeat to West Brom left United 12th in the Premier League, behind the likes of newly promoted Cardiff, Hull City and early relegation candidates Aston Villa.

And Moyes's charges, who have failed to score a goal in open play since their opening day victory over Swansea, have seen their chances at winning the title slashed by bookies', who have lowered them to 7/1 to retain the title, making them the fourth favourite team.

The odds at most bookmakers also see them struggling for a Champions League spot.

United's form is a far cry from the way Sir Alex Ferguson's United team romped to the title last term, and fans may begin to ask questions over his replacement's long-term suitability before too long.
