Xavi has heaped praise on Barcelona duo Neymar and Marc Bartra after they starred in the La Liga side's narrow 1-0 win over Celtic.

The Champions League Group H encounter was settled in 75th minute when former Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas headed in the winner late on.

Barcelona's goal came after Scott Brown was sent off for kicking out at Neymar.

The Brazilian sensation was criticised for making the most out of Brown's idiotic kick, however Xavi has praised the 21-year-old's performance.

Speaking after Barcelona's win, Xavi said: "Neymar and Bartra are showing their quality.

"They will be important throughout the whole season and today they proved it."

Despite the win, Xavi believes his side made hard work of their game against the Scottish champions.

Xavi added: "I believe that we had a lot of possession and we dominated the match. We only scored once but we could have scored more."

Gerardo Martino's Barcelona are currently top of Group H, having beaten Ajax and Celtic in their opening two European games.

The Catalan Giants' next two Champions League matches see Barcelona play AC Milan at the San Siro before the return fixture at the Camp Nou.
