Ahead of Liverpool's Premier League encounter with Crystal Palace on Saturday, Brendan Rodgers has given the media an update on Liverpool's increasing injury list.

Liverpool have been suffering through injury, with Philippe Coutinho, Glen Johnson and Aly Cissokho, as well as Joe Allen and Sebastian Coates all out injured.

Rodgers said that three of his injured players will be returning after the international break:

"We're okay. Aly Cissokho has trained over the course of the last week or so, so I think after the international break he'll be fine and fit. Joe Allen likewise - he should be ready for the Newcastle game.

"Glen Johnson and Coutinho will not be long after.

"Glen's out on the field and hopefully after the international break he'll be ready to come back into the squad.

"Obviously Sebastian Coates will be that bit longer and has a bit more to do yet, but apart from that we're getting back to our numbers now."

The news will be welcomed by Liverpool fans, who will be concerned following Liverpool's 2-2 draw at Swansea, and 1-0 defeat to Southampton at home.

Glen Johnson was not called up by Roy Hodgson's England for their crucial games against Poland and Montenegro. He suffered an ankle injury during Liverpool's 1-0 win over Manchester United in the Capital One Cup.

Philippe Coutinho underwent shoulder surgery, but is expected to return quicker than was previously anticipated. He is likely to return towards the end of October.

Liverpool host Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Saturday, with a Liverpool win potentially taking them top of the table - one point ahead of leaders Arsenal who face West Brom on Sunday.
