Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta has reiterated his intention to sign a new contract and end his career at Camp Nou, reports

Recent speculation had suggested that talks between the player and club over a new deal had broken down, but the 29-year-old categorically denies those allegations, adding that he remains as committed as ever to Barca.

Iniesta's current deal runs until 2015, but both parties have been keen to resolve the Spain international's long-term future once and for all.

"The club and I want the same thing - that is to close a deal," he explained in a recent radio interview with RAC1.

"I’ve been at Barcelona since I was 12 and my dream is to end my career here.

"I feel that my best years are ahead of me and I want to spend them here at Barca. It is my objective to retire here."

Iniesta has played an instrumental role in Barcelona's unrivalled period of success in recent years, and is widely regarded as one of the most gifted players in world football.

Gerardo Martino will be determined to retain the services of the midfield maestro, and will be relieved to hear Iniesta commit his future to the Catalan club, in the hope of ending any rumours about a possible exit next summer.
