Peter Taylor has moved one step closer to being appointed Charlton manager after describing his interview as "a privilege and an honour".

The Hull and England Under-21 boss is believed to be the Addicks´ number-one choice to replace Alan Curbishley. He has been interviewed by The Valley hierarchy though insisted his status as "clear favourite" for the job is not justified.

Taylor, 53, told PA Sport: "I´ve been interviewed and it was a privilege and an honour to be speak to an established Premiership club such as Charlton."
