Manchester United & PSG set for Mata swoop

Chelsea star Juan Mata remains a target for both Manchester United and French champions PSG, according to Portuguese newspaper A Bola.

The Spaniard has been the subject of intense transfer speculation since the beginning of the season, and was linked with several high-profile moves before the end of the summer transfer window.

Jose Mourinho's decision to turn the two time Chelsea player of the year into a bit-part member of his team has come under heavy criticism, and Mata was even left out of the squad altogether for his side's home victory against Fulham.

The Special One admitted earlier this week that he had made a mistake in choosing to regularly leave Mata on the bench, and thus it looks as though the 25-year-old will have a more significant part to play from now on.

However that may not stop Manchester United and PSG returning for the playmaker in the January transfer window, as they may seek to capitalise on the currently indifferent nature of his relationship with Mourinho.

It is thought both the Premier League champions and the Ligue 1 title holders are preparing package deals to attempt to entice Mata away from Stamford Bridge as soon as the transfer window re-opens in the New Year.
