Chelsea's experienced goalkeeper Petr Cech has backed new teammate Willian to settle at Stamford Bridge following his stunning goal against Norwich City on Sunday.

The Brazil international, who joined the Blues from Russian outfit Anzhi Makhachkala for a reported £30m this summer, scored Chelsea's third and final goal with a remarkable first time left-footed effort into the top corner of the net.

Jose Mourinho's men secured a 3-1 win at Carrow Road, with the Blues' other two goals coming from Oscar and substitute Eden Hazard.

But it was Willian's third which really caught the eye.

"He's settling in the team," Cech told Chelsea's official website. "It's not always easy when you come to the Premier League, you need a little bit of time to learn the language.

"He's getting games under his belt, he did really well at Swindon, he did very well in the games when he came in. He scored a fantastic goal which will give him a lot of confidence and I hope that it will help him settle in better."

Willian has made four appearances for the west London outfit since completing his summer move from Anzhi.

The 25-year-old almost signed for Tottenham before securing a move to Chelsea. Indeed, Willian had already completed a medical at White Hart Lane, before Chelsea came in at the eleventh hour.
