Rubin Kazan are set to challenge Arsenal and Manchester City for the signing of Adil Rami, according to talkSPORT.

The Valencia defender faces an uncertain future at the club after criticising the Spanish outfit.

However, the 27-year-old has plenty of admirers, with the likes of Napoli also interested in his services.

And Russian club Kazan are hoping to land the signature of the defender, however Premier League duo City and Arsenal continue to monitor the situation.

City look desperate to add depth to their defence, with club-captain Vincent Kompany sidelined once again and their summer signing Martin Demichelis struggling for fitness himself.

City have also had some issues at the back this season - they were heavily beaten at the Etihad against Bayern Munich just last week and also showed their defensive vulnerabilities against Cardiff earlier on in the season.

However, with the situation of Rami still undecided, many of Europe's elite clubs could be set to enter the chase for the star.
