Belgium midfielder Moussa Dembele is a doubt for the World Cup qualifier against Croatia on Friday, reports Sky Sports.
The Tottenham star is likely to miss the crucial game that sees Belgium travel to the Croatian city of Maksimir looking to secure their place at next year's World Cup.
Croatia are the only team capable of catching Belgium at the top of the table but anything but a win for the Croats will see Belgium secure a ticket to Brazil.
But Marc Wilmots, the Belgium manager, may have to do it without Dembele after he suffered a sprained ankle in training.
Belgium lead Group A, which also contains Scotland and Wales, by five points after a wholly impressive campaign, winning seven and draw one.
Dembele, who arrived at White Hart Lane last summer from Fulham for an undisclosed fee, has appeared in every qualifier so far - starting six.
He has also started every Premier League game for Tottenham this season with Andre Villas-Boas clearly deeming the Belgian as crucial to his squad.
It has not been clarified whether Dembele will be fit when Spurs return to action on 20th October against Aston Villa.
