Tottenham star fails to impress as a goalkeeper

Tottenham midfielder Lewis Holtby endured a fairly difficult spell between the posts after training today, with the club posting amusing video footage of the German international's failed goalkeeper audition on their official Instagram account.

23-year-old Holtby, who joined the North London outfit from Bundesliga side Schalke 04 back in January, won't have worried the established and experienced duo of Hugo Lloris and Brad Friedel during his unhappy stint with the gloves.

The video shows defender Michael Dawson beat his teammate with a weak low-effort before Holtby is left rooted to the spot by a far more impressive curled effort from full-back Kyle Naughton - one that even Lloris - who is considered by many to be the Premier League's most-accomplished goalkeeper - may have struggled to keep out of the net.

Thanks to Tottenham's official Instagram for posting the video.
