Chelsea have reportedly reached an agreement to sign Barcelona keeper Victor Valdes at the end of the season, according to Le 10 Sport.

The French news organisation, citing Spanish newspaper AS, claims that Chelsea have agreed in principle to bring Valdes to Stamford Bridge next summer.

The Spain international is out of contract at the Nou Camp at the end of the season as his current deal expires in June 2014.

He was linked with a Premier League move this summer - including to Chelsea - and the latest report claims Jose Mourinho has won the race.

Monaco were reportedly extremely close to signing him in August before Valdes decided to see out his Barca contract.

He's free to negotiate with other clubs from January, although he's believed to have already agreed a deal with the Blues.

It's not immediately clear why Chelsea would move for Valdes, with Petr Cech established as one of the best keepers in the Premier League and undisputed number one at Stamford Bridge.

And in reserve Mourinho can call on Thibaut Courtois. The Belgian - currently mid-way through his third season on loan at Atletico Madrid - has been earmarked as Cech's eventual successor.

But both Chelsea keepers have been linked with moves of their own - Courtois is reportedly a target to replace Valdes at the Nou Camp, as is Cech.
