Manchester United have offered a trial to highly-rated USA youth international Nick Taitague, according to the Daily Mail.

The 14-year-old winger has been invited to the Premier League champions' Carrington training complex after catching the eye of the club's global scouting network.

Taitague is widely regarded as one of the most gifted young footballers in all of North America, and was recently selected as one of three underage players in the USA squad for the Copa Mexico de Naciones earlier this year.

Red Devils scouts were present at the competition in August, and filed a promising report back to Old Trafford boss David Moyes.

The talented teenager could now be in line for a place in Manchester United's esteemed academy, providing he passes his trial, which is due to take place later this month.

After helping USA to a third place finish at the U15 tournament, Taitague's burgeoning reputation has given him a strong chance of forging a career in England's top-flight.

Manchester United have always placed an emphasis on nurturing and developing young talent, and the recent emergence of Adnan Januzaj will only act as an incentive for the aspiring American in the coming weeks.
