Chelsea star Eden Hazard has revealed Kevin De Bruyne is desperate to prove to Jose Mourinho that he is good enough to play for the west London side, reports Sport Witness.
De Bruyne, who Chelsea signed for £6.7million in January 2012, has been dropped from Mourinho's recent squads due to his apparent poor display against Swindon Town in the Capital One Cup.
Despite his recent omission from Mourinho's plans, club teammate and fellow countryman Hazard has revealed that the 22-year-old wants to fight for his place at Stamford Bridge.
Speaking to Sport Wereld, Hazard said on De Bruyne: "Unfortunately, he does not play much at Chelsea but he wants to really show the coach that he is wrong."
Both De Bruyne and Hazard are likely to be involved in Belgium's final World Cup Group A qualifying matches against Croatia on Friday before taking on Wales next Tuesday.
Marc Wilmots' Belgium will guarantee a place at next summer's World Cup if they can get a point or more against second-placed Croatia.
