Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil has revealed that he is still in contact with Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho, after revealing that his former Real Madrid boss sent him a 'welcome to London' message, reports London 24.

The Germany international has made a scintillating start to life at the Emirates Stadium, following his club record £42.5million switch from Spain on transfer deadline day.

Ozil has wasted little time in settling in at Arsenal, having helped Arsene Wenger's side to the top of the Premier League table, after a flying start to the 2013/14 campaign.

However, Gunners fans might be concerned by news of Chelsea's contact with the 24-year-old, through fear that Mourinho might look to lure the playmaker to Stamford Bridge in the future.

When quizzed on his relationship with the Blues boss, Ozil told German newspaper Bild: "Yes, we are in contact. He sent me a text message saying, 'Welcome to London'."

The Arsenal star failed to elaborate on the context of any further conversation between himself and the Portuguese tactician saying: "That stays between us."

Ozil also spoke briefly about his time at the Santiago Bernabeu, under the tutelage of Mourinho, but described it as a 'closed chapter' in his career, with his focus now on doing well for Arsenal.
