David Beckham copycat goal scored for Ireland under-19s

There have been many false prophets with regards to the next David Beckham.

However, none have come quite so close to emulating one particularly famous achievement of Beckham's than Reading star Liam Kelly.

Beckham famously scored from the halfway line against Wimbledon to announce himself on the scene and Kelly has done the same in similar fashion.

The magnificent hit gifted Ireland a 1-0 and delighted manager Paul Doolin.

He told reporters: "The goal was absolutely unbelievable and I instantly thought of David Beckham.

"Liam picked it up on the half-way line looked up and let fly. For a guy of his size he has great technique."

But this isn't the first time Kelly has hit a stunning Beckham-esque goal and was recently filmed scoring a fantastically unorthodox free-kick for Reading under-18s.
