Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo has been praised by none other than Hollywood A-Lister Arnold Schwarzenegger - for his "fantastic physique".

Schwarzenegger, who recently worked as the Governor of California following his successful acting career, is a former bodybuilder and hailed Ronaldo's abs while speaking at a bodybuilding contest in Madrid.

"He has a fantastic physique. He has some great abs – he looks spectacular," the man who is perhaps best-known for his role as the Terminator told Spanish radio station COPE. "He looks to be in great shape, so it is clear he’s a great footballer.

"I don’t think he’d be interested in competing in a Mr Olympia. He is interested in being the best player in the world.

"I was interested in winning the Mr Olympia title. They are two different sports, but there is no doubt he is in great shape."

The kind words of Schwarzenegger, now 66, will no doubt come as music to the ears of former Manchester United star Ronaldo, who bulked up during his spell at Old Trafford.

Could Ronaldo follow a similar career path to Schwarzenegger? Is he destined to become the next Terminator? Predict what CR7 will do after he hangs up his boots in the comments section below.
