Gabriel Heinze - 2004 to 2007
When the Argentine international arrived at Old Trafford in 2004, the fans were rightfully expecting plenty from the player.
And, Heinze didn't let them down, particularly in the first season when he won the club's Player of the Year award. However, injury the following season saw the emergence of Patrice Evra and left the 35-year-old fighting for his place.
He was in-and-out of the team the following year as Manchester United won the title, and regularly filled-in at centre back when required. Whilst his exit was a little unsavoury, he certainly never let the side down and was also named captain of the great club on occasion.
His time was short-lived with the club, and the performances of Evra have somewhat over-shadowed his time at the club, but it certainly shouldn't be forgotten.
