Wayne Rooney helped book England's place at the 2014 World Cup finals in Brazil last night, after scoring the first goal in thier 2-0 win over Poland.

The Manchester United star has been his country's main striker for the last nine years, and showed exactly why his nation rates him so highly last night.

Rooney is on 86 caps at the moment and has set his sights on a century very soon.

The 27-year-old has scored 38 goals for his country, with many more to come.

David Beckham is currently the record cap holder for an outfield England player with 115 caps.

Rooney has a real chance of breaking this record should be continue to put in displays like he did last night.
