French outfit St. Etienne are worried that they may lose starlet Kurt Zouma in January if a huge bid is made, according to the Express.

The 18-year-old is being linked with moves to the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool and although his club say they are not under any financial pressure to part ways with him, they realise that they may have no choice if a substantial bid is lodged.

It is thought that United remain the most interested in acquiring the defender, and are preparing to propose a move in January, despite interest from foreign parties Monaco, Juventus and Bayer Leverkusen as well as that of their domestic rivals.

It is believed that Zouma could be available for around £7million, but having seen the departures of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Josuha Guilavogui for large sums this summer just gone, St. Etienne are not in a position where they need to sell.

However they may not be able to refuse the option of cashing in on the youngster if a large bid does come in after Christmas.
