Bayern Munich star Thomas Muller has been linked with a sensational switch to Spanish champions Barcelona, according to French newspaper Le 10 Sport.

The German international has been a key figure in the Bavarians' recent successes, and has maintained a consistent first-team spot over the last few years.

However reports in France are suggesting that the German international may have flown to Spain to meet up with Catalan representatives during the international break in order to discuss a potential move.

Journalist and agent, François Gallardo is reported as having said: "The meeting was held to determine the susceptibility of Thomas Müller if Barcelona decided to approach.

"The response of Müller seem to be positive, as any player who receives an offer from a club like Barcelona."

The news will probably come as a shock to most of the footballing world, as Muller has never previously been linked with the exit door.

And the Bayern winger's agent, Ludwig Kogl moved quickly to dispel any gossip linking him with Barca, laughing off suggestions that a transfer was being mooted.

"Thomas was definitely not in Barcelona on Sunday," Kogl said, when asked about whether or not negotiations had taken place.

"There's no truth in this. There have not been any talks with Barcelona and we have not negotiated with them."

Muller's Bayern currently sit top of the Bundesliga, whereas Barca are at the summit of the La Liga table.
