Tottenham weighing up move for Lukaku

Tottenham are considering a move for Anderlecht youngster Jordan Lukaku, according to The Metro.

Citing reports from Belgium, the article claims Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku’s younger brother is the subject of Tottenham scouts’ attention despite a lack of playing time.

The 19-year-old younger Lukaku is currently on loan at Belgian Pro-League outfit Oostende from Anderlecht, but he’s yet to start a match for his new club.

Still, Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas has reportedly instructed his staff to keep a close eye on the teenage sibling of Chelsea’s on loan striker sensation Romelu.

While the Stamford Bridge forward, who is currently on loan at Everton, plays up front, Jordan Lukaku prefers to play slightly further back. He’s most comfortable at left-back but can also operate slightly further forward in a wing-back or left-midfield role.

But the younger Lukaku certainly possesses the upper body strength and imposing physique of his brother. Spurs have just one orthodox left-back at the club following the departure of Benoit Assou Ekotto on loan.

Danny Rose has started when fit, with Kyle Naughton deputising.

Romelu is currently enjoying another profitable loan spell away from Chelsea – the Everton frontman has notched four goals in four games for the Toffees since his summer switch from Stamford Bridge.
