Zlatan Ibrahimovic outdone by sensational Cavani

Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored a quite brilliant goal for Paris Saint-Germain on Saturday, but the Sweden captain was outdone by a sensational solo effot from teammate Edinson Cavani.

Ibrahimovic found the net twice before half-time against Bastia, and one of his goals was a breathtaking backheel volley so nonchalant that only he could have converted it.

Laurent Blanc removed Ibrahimovic from proceedings after his excellent first 45 minutes, no doubt with one eye on the Champions League encounter with Anderlecht, and had the luxury of replacing him with Cavani, a £55 million summer acquisition.

Cavani himself netted a brace to provide PSG with a 4-0 victory, and the Uruguayan's first of the afternoon - just after the hour mark - was something very special indeed.

The former Napoli striker danced his way through players, including the Bastia goalkeeper, before sliding the ball into the net to complete an incredible slaloming rum.

It was Cavani's seventh goal in 12 games for PSG, and will surely be in contention for the goal of the season come May.
