Arsene Wenger says he will not be rushed in to signing a new deal with Arsenal.

The Arsenal manager currently has little over eight months to run on his current contract, leaving Arsenal fans sweating over the Frenchman's future.

Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly eager to tempt Wenger away from the Emirates stadium.

Wenger's 17-year spell in north London looked set to be extended for a few more season's yet after the Gunners boss confirmed there was an offer on the table but Wenger insists he will not be rushed in to signing a new deal.

He told the Daily Mirror: "I will make a decision halfway through the season.

"Deep down, I have an idea what I want to do, but give me a bit of time.

"What interests me above all is to always meet the expectations of our fans."

Wenger currently enjoys a £7.5m a year contract with Arsenal and Ivan Gazidis has previously stated his desire to tie Wenger, 64, down to a few more seasons.

Arsenal are currently sitting on the top of the Premier League table and look set to mount their first serious title challenge in several seasons.

After going eight seasons without a trophy, many fans have called Wenger's future at the club in to question but 11 wins from their last 12 games coupled with the signing of Mesut Ozil has been enough to change many minds.
