Six of the best: Volleys in the Premier League era

Last night, in Fulham's 4-1 demolition of Crystal Palace, Pajtim Kasami scored one of the goals of the Premier League season with a quite awesome volley past Julian Speroni.

So, now we're going to take a look at some of the best volleys in the Premier League era.

There have been so many great strikes in England's elite division, and choosing just six was a difficult task.

But, there's no doubting that these are six of the best:

6. Robin van Persie (Arsenal)

Robin van Persie could have made this list twice and it was hard picking which volley was actually better.

His one that sealed the title against Aston Villa for Manchester United last season was outrageous, but his one playing for Arsenal just beats it.

With the ball coming at him a little high, Van Persie somehow managed to smash the ball into the top corner of the goal.

5. Alan Shearer (Newcastle United)

Throughout his playing days, Alan Shearer could score from near enough anywhere.

But his strike against Everton certainly stands out the most. As the ball was headed down, he readied himself and hit a ferocious volley into the back of the net.

It was never going to be stopped!

4. Gareth Bale (Tottenham Hotspur)

The now Real Madrid man pretty much has it all. This volley against Stoke City showed just the capabilities of the man.

A fine strike, from a tight angle - the Welsh star hammered the ball home.

3. Paul Scholes (Manchester United)

Just like Van Persie, Scholes could have easily made this list twice over.

His fine volley against Bradford is certainly one that stands out, however this one against Aston Villa was struck with incredible power.

Off from a knock down, the ball flew off Scholes' foot and rattled off the bar.

2. Paolo Di Canio (West Ham United)

The technique of this Di Canio special was something else and his goal against Wimbledon will certainly go down as one of the best in Premier League history.

The accuracy and power of this strike from such a tight angle can only be applauded when watching this goal.

1. Tony Yeboah (Leeds United)

Tony Yeboah's outrageous strike against Liverpool will certainly go down as one of all-time best Premier League goals.

The Leeds United man really couldn't have hit the ball any more perfectly and the strike flew past David James in the Reds goal.

Hitting the crossbar on its way in, the power made it near enough unstoppable to keep out.
