LeBron James and Miami Heat have been overwhelmingly backed for glory once again when the new season gets underway, with a poll conducted by showing they have the significant backing of the league's GMs.

Over 75 percent of general managers in the NBA believe the Heat are destined to secure a third straight championship win, with no other franchise claiming more than seven percent of the vote.

This is a 5.9 percent increase in the amount of support the Heat received last year, with an almost unanimous belief across the league that the 2014 NBA finals win will be theirs again.

Unsurprisingly, LeBron James is also afforded heavy backing to clinch yet more personal accolades in 2014, with 69 percent of GMs believing he will end the season as the NBA's MVP - having done so in the previous two campaigns.

James has also been identified by almost 90 percent of GMs as the player they would most like to have on their team, were they able to sign any player in the NBA.

This is a 9.7 percent rise when the same question was asked last year, and reinforces the dominance that James continues to enjoy in the league.

Kevin Durrant is the next most sought after player, with the Oklahoma City Thunder star ranked second, but with only 6.9 percent of the total vote.
