Sir Alex Ferguson released his eagerly-awaited autobiography to much fanfare on Tuesday afternoon, and the former Manchester United manager laid bare some of the most strained relationships he endured during his illustrious time with the club.

Roy Keane, David Beckham, Owen Hargreaves and Ruud van Nistelrooy all came in for criticism of varying degrees of severity from their former manager, who was happy to tuck into some of the players previously under his tutelage.

Despite some high-profile revelations there, were however, some glaring omissions from the Manchester United icon in his memoir, and GMS has decided to fill in the gaps that Ferguson has left.

In these imaginary extracts, we discover just who Ferguson's real first choice was to replace him at Manchester United, just what he thinks of David Moyes, and which high profile Premier League job he turned down.
