Tomas Rosicky says Serge Gnabry is in the perfect place to reach his potential after signing a long-term deal with Arsenal.

The Arsenal youngster was given a chance in the first team earlier this season following a number of injuries to established stars at the Emirates.

Gnabry grabbed the chance with both hands and thoroughly impressed in the Champions League before scoring his first senior goal against Swansea in the Premier League.

He again impressed Arsene Wenger at Selhurst Park on Saturday after winning the penalty that Mikel Arteta converted to give Arsenal the lead.

Arsenal veteran Rosicky is delighted to see Gnabry sign a new deal and says working under Wenger will help him improve further.

“He is a good dribbler and can take on you on in the one-on one-situations,” the Czech international told

“That can be his strong point in the future and for an 18-year-old he is doing very well.“I think he has a manager here who will develop him and who has a history of developing young players. Nothing better could happen to him than being offered a new contract here.

“He is a very talented boy; 18 years old and he still has plenty of things to learn and he will find no better place to learn than here. I think it works very well for both sides that he stays here.

“He's got a great environment for his growth and the potential and talent is there, so let's see how he will develop.”

The 18-year-old will likely celebrate his new deal with a start against Chelsea in the Capital One Cup on Tuesday night.

Wenger is famous for giving his younger players a chance in the competitions and Gnabry is tipped to start against Jose Mourinho's men.
