LeBron James is unhappy with the fact that he and his Miami Heat teammates will be presented with their Championship rings from last season, immediately prior to their clash with the Chicago Bulls.

The Heat won their second consecutive NBA title in June, but will only be given their rings before tonight's game, which is the season opener.

Whilst many are looking forward to seeing LeBron and co. finally be rewarded for their successes last term, the Miami Heat forward is wary that it could be an unnecessary distraction before a game against gifted opposition.

"It is what it is – there's nothing we can do about it,” James said.

“It's something we'd rather do [earlier], take care of last year. After we get our rings, then that's last year. And then we'll go from there.”

The Heat star also highlighted the difficulties his side may face in maintaining their concentration for the Bulls, with the Championship rings presentation sure to install a reflective mood on the squad.

"It's hard,” James told reporters.

“I'm going to see some of it. You don't take it for granted. We did some special things last year, and this is a time to look back at it one more time. I definitely won't lose sight of what's in front of me.”

The Heat take on Chicago tonight a they look to embark on another title-winning campaign that could see them become one of a few teams to have ever completed the famous three-peat success.
