Manchester United boss David Moyes has received a boost ahead of his side's Capital One Cup clash against Norwich this evening with the news that both Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic are fit to feature.

The defensive duo look to be nearing full fitness and could play a part in the game at Old Trafford this evening.

Ferdinand hasn't featured for the Red Devils since their shock 2-1 defeat against West Brom last month while Vidic's last outing came in the win against Sunderland on October 5.

Manchester United struggled to a 3-2 win over Stoke on Saturday having been 1-0 and 2-1 down, and Moyes will no doubt be buoyed by the return of two of his key players as he looks to win three consecutive games for the first time in his Old Trafford career.

Moyes said of Ferdinand's injury over the weekend: ‘It’s a little bit of an injury and some other things he has to deal with, and for that reason he wasn’t involved. But it’s mainly the injury.’

The Scot is likely to make plenty of changes to the side that came through that test on Saturday but may still name a strong side that includes the likes of match-winner Javier Hernandez.

Outcast Wilfried Zaha could also be handed a rare start for Manchester United - 24 hours after Moyes conceded he could be sent out on loan in January.

The former Palace winger has rarely featured since his summer switch to Old Trafford, and has been linked with a temporary switch to Newcastle to get more playing time under his belt.

Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie are likely to be rested for the clash against the Canaries.
