Rolando McClain has revealed he was so angry before he walked away from NFL that he thought he was going to do something that he would regret.

After being released by the Oakland Raiders and then signing with the Baltimore Ravens, McClain retired from the game at just 23-years-old.

The star had struggled with problems in his personal life and has revealed that he wanted to kill somebody whilst in the game.

In an interview with ESPN The Magazine, McClain said: "I felt like Aaron Hernandez, like I just wanted to kill somebody."

A number of reports had shown serious problems within his personal life, for example the star was involved in a shooting in 2011 and was again arrested in 2013 for driving offences.

And he insisted that he had to leave the game, as he continued by saying: "would have ended up locked in a cage like an animal. That had to be the only outcome."

However, he could still make a return to the game in the near future, but has revealed he's unsure whether he's ready to attend therapy.

He finished by saying: "I don't know if I'm ready to know, man, why I was so angry,"
