Adnan Januzaj has burst onto the Manchester United scene this season and looks a wonderful talent.

The 18-year-old has even been compared with former World Player of the Year and Red Devils legend Cristiano Ronaldo - but does he really have what it takes to emulate the Portuguese star?

Well, having made just a handful of appearances for the Red Devils, he has a long way to go in order to prove that he's the next big thing.

Many would suggest that it's far too early to be comparing the youngster with the world's best players, however there must be something pretty special about him for people to already be looking at him as a future superstar.

The Belgian-born starlet is already the first player on the lips of the Old Trafford faithful as they prepare to watch their side. He seems to have an aura around him - a certain confidence that others his age don't possess.

Most youngsters play without fear, but this youngster makes opponents fear him. In just a few months, he has gone from a teenager on the books at United, to a man, ready to fill the boots of an Old Trafford legend.

And, most impressively, he doesn't seem to be fazed by it all.

With beautiful technique and wonderful skill, Januzaj seems to protect the ball in a way others can't. He oozes class and sheer confidence and in pressured situations seems to excel and not fall apart.

He's shown this in his displays when picking the right pass or making the right run past a player, and he certainly showed it at the Stadium of Light a few weeks back.

The Red Devils 1-0 down and needing a hero, Januzaj stepped up and finished with two sublime strikes. He's already proved that he can be counted on when needed.

In recent weeks, he was the pick of the players in United's 1-1 draw with Southampton, he made an impact from the bench as United had seemingly ran out of ideas against Stoke City this past weekend, and he shone last night as David Moyes' side thumped Norwich City in the Capital One Cup.

Not since the days of Ronaldo, have the Old Trafford faithful been so excited when a star is on the ball.

Going back to the Stoke City game this past weekend, Januzaj may not have had a direct impact in either of the goals, however his presence alone was enough to give United an extra edge. He's a shining light for Moyes and one the United boss must use wisely.

He can have a major impact this year and for many more years at the Theatre of Dreams and if he develops in the right way, then just maybe he can emulate United's former No.7.
