Arsenal may have to play this week's crunch Champions League fixture against Borussia Dortmund without influential midfielder Jack Wilshere, according to the Express.

Wilshere, who has a history of injury problems in his short career so far, picked up an ankle knock on Thursday which meant he was forced to sit out of the 2-0 victory over Liverpool at the weekend.

And now it's feared that he may have to watch on from the stands during Wednesday's game away to Dortmund as well.

Arsene Wenger is hoping that the 21-year-old will be available for Sunday's trip to Old Trafford, where they will face long-time rivals Manchester United, but it seems as though the Frenchman will have to do without his starlet for now.

Wilshere isn't the only doubt for the Dortmund game either, with Kieran Gibbs struggling with a calf problem. The full-back limped off against Liverpool and is expected to be replaced by Nacho Monreal for the match in Germany.
